Staff Predictions: Florida State Seminoles vs. Wake Forest

The Florida State Seminoles will face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in North Carolina on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., with FSU as the underdog.

Like we do every week, your Tomahawk Nation team broke down the entire movie, traced every shot, performed an AI virtual simulation of the individual man-to-man clashes. [by position], compiled, sorted and analyzed all the data and came to the conclusion that the Noles should indeed be the dogs of this game.

Check out Jon Marchant’s Q&A with SBN blogger So Dear’s Cameron to see what they think of the game.

If you like learning more about the history of Seminole football, Tim Scribble, NoleThruandThru, and Matt Minnick will bring you back with some games and memorabilia from Florida State vs Wake Forest history.

Will the State of Florida be able to overcome the momentum Wake Forest is currently experiencing, enough to cover the spread?

Read what your Tomahawk Nation tipsters predict how this Saturday’s showdown will go, then share your thoughts on how you feel about this game.

I know this FSU team is somewhere in between what we’ve seen against Notre Dame and Jacksonville State. Lots of players and coaches are saying the right things about being motivated, using the close two losses as fuel to improve, etc. I’m not sure I believe it yet.

I am ready to see a youth movement in several positions, including wide receiver and defensive back. Start getting meaningful reps for young players with higher caps and build for the future because the present is bleak. For the sake of the recruiting class, I sincerely hope I’m wrong, but I just don’t feel positive about this game.

There are a few key things that need to happen for the Seminoles to come out of Winston-Salem with a win and hopefully that will give some life to a fanbase that could slowly lose confidence.

Don’t shoot yourself in the foot with penalties that put you or the opposing team in front of the chains before the drive has even started. In the last two games, the Noles have scored 20 penalties that gave opposing teams 168 yards – Wake Forest, 6-63 (notice a difference?). These are damaging mistakes that absolutely must be corrected to get the team moving.

The other thing that has to happen is that the students in the upper grades have to step up. There should be some guys who were out last Saturday against the available Gamecocks and hopefully with more reliable targets FSU can keep the game in check. Otherwise, the defense will not be able to hold out and we know how it goes.

Wake Forest has a good offense driven by a good coach and I was ready to do anything in this team after last Saturday, but that’s just not me. If Shade Tree believes in this team’s ability to respond, then who am I to disagree? The running game will pick up on this one with a few PA shots at Malik McClain and Camm Mcdonald to put FSU on top.

I have no idea what team we’ll have tomorrow, and I think there are too many questions left to be confident of anything. It’s funny; it’s really just the last two games and six points total on 2-0. And it’s not too late to turn the tide. I mean, one-scoring games are essentially draws, and there is inherently a bit of bad luck being zero-for-two in such games. That kind of luck must turn in your favor at some point.

But I can’t help but think the JSU game shouldn’t have been a one-scoring game to start with. These staff got arrogant and played, and maybe they broke the season because of it. To start 0-3 would be a disaster, but I feel like it is staring us in the face. Then again, what if that loss is one score again? Didn’t I say it was “lose a bit” season? What do we do with it?

I don’t know anyone from this Wake Forest, but I don’t like some of the things I hear about weddings all over the world, and it’s not too pretty with me.

I hear they talk like they deserve to be seated at Big Boy Arby’s table, but I got news for them Witch Burners,

NO ARBY FOR YOU THIS WEEK, WAKE UP!

Hello darkness my old friend… I’m sorry folks but I can’t take this nonsense anymore, take a deep breath, okay I’m fine.

This has the potential for many outcomes such as WF Rash, FSU Rash, Close Calls, I would expect FSU to show up and fight in an “us versus the world” setting. Can FSU eliminate the pre-snap penalties and catch the ball? Can the defense play on the ball? These are some of the big issues to watch out for.

What the hell can we do with this FSU team? This week, the staff made a final quarterback pick, but it wasn’t really as big of an issue as the wide receiver drops and penalties overall. The key is to limit these mistakes. Despite them, Florida State is one game away from winning twice now. Does this mean that it is the team which is at a correctable error of the competition or the one which can only make it in its own way? Not sure. But I know they must have this victory.

It was either the team that nearly won against Notre Dame or the team that ruined the win against Jacksonville State, and both are teams that lost games. Will this be the opportunity for the team to take a step forward? It’s all in the hands of the offense – literally, as receivers will dictate when and if big plays come in. Call it wishcasting, but in a game so crucial to the future of Florida state football and Mike Norvell’s tenure, the Seminoles are going to have to find a way to win.
