Are you looking for a house in CNY? Forget the asking price: The central New York real estate market has been on fire for much of the past year and a big indicator of the heat is how close sellers are to their asking prices. For months now, they haven’t just been getting closer. They have more.

New York State deploys National Guard to assist understaffed nursing homes: Nursing homes, like hospitals and other health care facilities, are grappling with a severe shortage of nurses and other health care workers. To help deal with this, the New York National Guard is sending 120 of its medical staff to help out in understaffed nursing homes across the state, including Loretto in Syracuse.

As NY licenses lag behind, Indian countries are increasing marijuana sales: It has been eight months since New York State legalized the possession and use of adult recreational marijuana. Uncertain future for the Microsoft technology hub proposed in Syracuse: In 2019, software giant Microsoft announced plans to establish a “smart cities technology hub” in Syracuse and entered into a three-year agreement with the city, Onondaga County and Syracuse University. Two years after the deal began, however, adviser Michael Greene says Microsoft has not had “the decency to give us a direct answer on their position” with the project.
