BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FL – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team will be back on the court on Monday to prepare for the NJCAA’s summer team presentation.

The Titans will travel to Georgia to play four games over the weekend at Columbus State College in a big event with 30 junior college men’s basketball teams playing over the weekend.

“I’m really, really excited and I know the guys are really excited,” Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said.

“It’s an opportunity to go and play in front of a lot of NCAA Division I coaches at a sanctioned event in June. get to know each other and get a first taste of what we have, but it’s going to be fun. We’re going because it’s going to be fun.

The team will practice for four days before heading to Georgia for games Friday night and Saturday against some of the top teams in the country.

The Titans will be a little shorthanded because five players scheduled in the rotation will not be available.

“It will give the other guys a great opportunity to make a statement, to show what they can do against some of the top teams,” Shulman said.

“It will also be the first and last opportunity for us to play against other teams until the official start of the season, so we will have an overview of our weaknesses and what we need to work on before training starts. I think that’s going to be a real advantage for us.”

This is the third year the NJCAA has held the sanctioned event to coincide with NCAA summer recruiting dates, but it will be the first time the Titans have been invited to compete.
